First Appearance: June 27th, 2019
Mad Bernie Sanders is a warped picture of Democratic Nominee Bernie Sanders with an angry expression, wearing a pink flower crown with rosy cheeks. Despite his enraged look, Mad Bernie Sanders is often posted saying positive and wholesome things in pink comic sans.
On June 26th, 2019, Sanders tweeted out a scathing indictment against current president Donald Trump's policies in immigration and in running concentration camps. He showed a news article and image of two corpses, drowned in shallow water, who had died after seeking asylum from Mexico. As ACS was following Sanders' account at the time, he also saw this tweet, alongside a tweet made by someone fellow politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez followed which showed the picture with the tweet "DON'T LOOK AWAY'. ACS took great offense to how the tweet valued shock value over adequate critiques, and criticized it heavily on the Tweetpile, though they were softer on Sanders' usage of it, as he's "mature enough to handle it".
The issue wouldn't hit the main twitter until later that night, when ACS made the facetious hashtag #BernieSandersShowedMeDeadBodies, demanding its entire length be trending on Instagram. The following day, in correlation with the Democratic Primaries, ACS once again asked for the hashtag to be trending, posting a heavily warped image of Bernie Sanders with angry eyes and a comically sized frown. Every time thereafter ACS saw the picture, it made them happy, showcasing their appreciation on July 2nd with the image of Mad Bernie Sanders in his first appearance of his flower crown and rosy cheeks.
